Visiting the Ahmanson Theatre and Mark Taper Forum

Go Metro and save! Plan your trip to the Ahmanson Theatre or Mark Taper Forum at metro.net or call 323.GO.METRO or 323.466.3876. Roundtrip fare is $3.50 + $2 for a reusable TAP card, per person. Take the Metro B or D Line to Civic Center/Grand Park Station and exit towards Temple Street. The Ahmanson Theatre/Mark Taper Forum is located at The Music Center, which is across the street, west of Grand Park.

Or Take the Metro A Line or E Line to Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station and take Hope Street past Walt Disney Concert Hall towards 1st Street. The Ahmanson Theatre/Mark Taper Forum is located at The Music Center, across the street, past the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Self-parking in The Music Center Main Garage is $10 (starting at 4:30pm, two hours prior to matinee performances and all-day on weekends. At all other times, you will pay the non-event rate of $3.50 for every 15 minutes, with a $20 maximum). Please expect to pay cash when you arrive. Enter on Grand Ave. Elevators are located under the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on the Grand Ave side of the plaza.

Valet parking is available for $23 ($10 for patrons displaying a handicapped placard).

Accessible Parking is available for patrons displaying a disability parking placard at both The Music Center Garage and valet parking. The charge at both locations is $10. To arrange mobility services from The Music Center garage to the Ahmanson Theatre or Mark Taper Forum, please contact The Music Center Access Disability Line at 213.972.0777. 

Parking rates at The Music Center are determined by the County of Los Angeles and are subject to change without notice.

Please plan on arriving at least 30 minutes prior to curtain time.

One CTG Subscribers who purchased before August 2024 are provided complimentary self-parking vouchers. These were mailed in the fall prior to the beginning of the season. Additional parking vouchers may be purchased in advance through Center Theatre Group and include a $1 handling fee per voucher. Please treat pre-paid parking vouchers like cash, as they cannot be replaced if lost.

The official rideshare pickup location for the Ahmanson Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum is 218 N Hope Street at the corner of W Temple Street, adjacent to the Ahmanson. Please wait there for services such as Uber and Lyft.

Season Ticket Members get exclusive access to exchange tickets online up to 24 hours before their showtime for free by visiting the My Account page on our website. As a Season Subscriber, if you exchange to a lower priced ticket, you'll receive a credit that can be used for additional tickets to the same production only and that will expire at the conclusion of this production if not used. Tickets exchanged into an upgraded location or higher priced date/time may increase the price of the new ticket. 

We now offer same-day exchanges for a per-ticket fee up to three hours before showtime. Same-day exchanges are not available online and must be made over the phone at 213.972.4444 or in person at the box office.

Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes and cologne. Many people are allergic to heavy scents. 

To minimize disruption, patrons not seated when the performance begins will be asked to wait in the lobby until an appropriate seating break. Latecomers may also be given alternate seats until intermission.

Flash photography can be dangerous to performers and is very distracting to audiences. Photography and any other type of recording device are unlawful, unless authorized by Center Theatre Group. Your use of a ticket constitutes acknowledgment of willingness to appear in authorized photographs and video in public areas of The Music Center and the Kirk Douglas Theatre and releases Center Theatre Group, The Music Center, and all others from liability resulting from the use of such photographs.

Children under age six are not admitted, unless the production is advertised for younger audiences. Regardless of age, everyone must have a ticket and be able to sit quietly through the performance. Babes in arms are not admitted. 

Thanks to a generous donation from the Center Theatre Group Affiliates, the Ahmanson Theatre has a limited number of booster seats available on a first come, first served basis.
